Scholastic Half-price Book Sale in the Library all this week

Half price books, posters and stationery are on sale in the Library all this week and Monday. Come and have a look before school, break, lunch or after school. If we sell more than £300 then the Library will get loads of free books for everyone to borrow. Some really good bargains including Tom Gates, Wimpy Kid, Graphics, 13+, 14+, Classics etc etc.

In September 2016 a Police Scotland Youth Volunteer group will be launched in East Lothian. It will be based in Musselburgh on a Tuesday evening. The group will learn new skills relating to volunteering and policing, which will in turn assist and prepare them for volunteering at local and national events.

The aims of the PSYV are to encourage the spirit of adventure and good citizenship, inspire young people to participate positively in their communities, promote a practical understanding of policing amongst young people, and support local policing priorities through volunteering and giving young people a chance to be heard.

If this sounds of interest to you, and you are aged 13-15 (or just turned 16), further information can be found on the Police Scotland website at scotland.police.uk/psyv (twitter & FB links also within this page).

Please see Miss McCabe in Guidance or Miss Anderson in Guidance Support for an application form. Alternatively, application forms can be requested from PC Smith @ Musselburgh Police Station (douglas.smith@scotland.pnn.police.uk) with a return date of Friday 9th September
