Once just a way to find information on the Internet, Google now represents a rapidly-growing collection of valuable tools and resources that can enhance any classroom. This site will provide resources for three presentations made at the Just Google It event at PSESD. An overview of each presentation follows.
Simple Blogging with Google Sites: Google sites is a great tool for creating reading journals, book discussion groups, organized class reading groups. These simple blogging sites can easily be created by students or by teachers who want to control and guide the experience.
Surveys, Assessments, Homework: All with Google Forms: Google Forms is a powerful yet easy tool to use for gathering any type of information in a district, school or classroom.
Managing Student Files in Google Docs: The key to using Google Docs with students is the management of files that are "shared" between students and their teacher. Setting up an organized system for the secure exchange of files between each student and their teacher can be time consuming and possibly confusing. In Google Docs files are shared with collections but remain in the All Items list which can grow rapidly to an overwhelming list of documents.
