Honor Choir

For 7th & 8th Grade Vocal Music Students
We are so glad that you're interested in auditioning for our local honor choir festivals! Each festival is an amazing musical experience with talented guest clinicians and fun with students who love choir as much as you do! We will be learning at least one audition piece (possibly both COCDA) in class, and we will give you some class time to practice the others, but you will be responsible for learning the majority of your music on your own. We will provide access to practice tracks below. (Let us know on the formif you need a CD.) Please be sure to spend time with your music every day! If you love choir, we truly hope you take the opportunity to audition for these amazing choirs.  Please return your form by Sept.1. Cash or check payments are accepted. Checks may be written out to Sequoyah Vocal Music. If the online option becomes available we will email that information. If the only reason you’re not trying out is financial, please come talk to us! We have resources to help with that if you really want to audition!

OCDA (All-State)
OCDA auditions singers from the entire state. They are a little more stringent in their requirements, but they use two of the same audition pieces as the Regional, so it’s worth auditioning for OCDA if you’re already doing COCDA. You will need to know all THREE audition pieces for these auditions, though. The All State Festival is three days long, with a stay in a Bricktown hotel in downtown OKC! Please check the dates below and make sure you can be available on the festival days!
Entry Fee: $20.00
Entry Deadline: Wednesday, September 20, 2017
1st Round Auditions: Saturday, October 28,2017 - Enid HS, 611 W Wabash Ave, Enid, OK 73701 (We'll go by bus)

Each festival has a SSA (women’s) choir and a SATB (mixed) choir. Depending on which one you are selected for, you will need to learn different additional music. Mixed Choir sings the audition pieces, and a couple others. Women’s Choir will have to learn all new pieces. We will be holding practices to help you learn these pieces, but again, you are responsible for learning as much as possible on your own.

Congratulations to the following students who were selected for the Oklahoma Choral Directors Association's All State 2018 Mixed Choir:
