Intern: Any person who provides services by personal choice without financial gain and who is sponsored by an educational institution for the purpose of learning about and gaining experience in a work assignment directly related to the course of study.
- To apply for internship credit you'll need to complete and submit the Internship paperwork, before you can register with Enrollment Services for the internship course. A START Coordinator can assist you with this process.
- This is a requirement for Admissions and the CIS Faculty Internship Coordinator. There is a checklist under the CIS internship section of the start@staff template that will help with this.
- Internship Credit: Students applying for internship credit should plan for 30 hours of work for each credit they are applying for (2 credits = 60 hours, 3 credits = 90 hours, etc). START provides 2-4 credit internships.
Volunteer: Any individual who provides ongoing services by personal choice without financial gain. For the purposes of the policy, “volunteer” applies to both interns and volunteers unless otherwise specified.
Student Hourly: Any individual who provides ongoing services by personal choice with financial gain. Must be an EdmondsCC student and maintain 6+ credits. Cannot exceed 19 hours each week.
Student: Any individual who provides ongoing services by personal choice with financial gain. Not an EdmondsCC student. Cannot exceed 16 hours each week.Note: A paid position doesn't require an internship, an internship does not guarantee a paid position. (Please read our Volunteer Policy).
