Testing Out of Physical Education


Fitness Testing for Athletes who wish to be excused from Physical Education will take place during the first two (2) weeks of school.  The test will be conducted by the Physical Education Teachers during regularly scheduled Physical Education classes.

This initial test will be valid for both the Fall and Winter Seasons.  Students who wish to be excused from Physical Education for the Spring Season, will again be required to test.  The test will again be conducted by the Physical Education Teachers during regularly scheduled Physical Education classes.

Please note the following:
  • This applies only to students in grades 10-12 who are participating in Athletics.
  • Students are only excused from Physical Education within the parameters of the particular season in which they are participating.
  • Once the season has concluded or if an athlete is released from or no longer with their team, they must immediately return to Physical Education on their next regularly scheduled day.

Fitness Testing and Signing Out

 

Fitness Testing will take place in the Pantherdome and San Marco Gym starting Tuesday 9/13/16. Please see the following reminders:

 

·         10th-12th grade students playing a JV or Varsity sport are eligible to sign out as long as they meet National Standards on all 5 fitness categories

·         Each student will have time to properly warm-up and will then be given one chance for each of the categories

·         FALL FITNESS TEST SCORES: Will be the scores used to sign out athletes for both Fall and Winter Sports.  There will be no fitness testing during the Winter.

·         SPRING FITNESS TEST SCORES: Will be the scores used to sign out athletes for Spring Sports

·         PRESIDENTIAL: Multiple sport athletes, who achieve Presidential scores in all five categories, will not have to retake Fitness Testing in the Spring.

·         All Athletes trying to sign out will test with Ms. Saracino
