  • MAC Girls Basketball Tournament The brackets are starting to take form! Marine City will open up the MAC Blue/Gold Tournament as the #1 seed out of the Gold Division and will start the tournament with a trip to Warren Fitzgerald on Friday, February 10th. The JV will play at 5:30 and the Varsity will follow at 7pm.

  • MAC Basketball Tournament Clarification New this year, the Macomb Area Conference is sponsoring and end of season conference tournament. In many ways the conference tournament is set up like the college tournaments that conclude the regular season in the Big Ten or the ACC. There are some differences, however, that have been put into place to guarantee that all schools are able to get their allotment of games.   • Athletics Schedule Updates - Week of 1/23 The Freshmen Boys Basketball team will be playing on January 24th at 4pm, but the game will be played at East Detroit. Madison cancelled their freshmen season and we were fortunate that East Detroit was adding a team at the same time. The JV and Varsity teams will still be playing at Madison.The swim meet that was scheduled for Tuesday, January 17th and was cancelled due to ice has been rescheduled as a HOME meet tomorrow, January 24th at 6pm.The JV and Varsity Girls Basketball game times at Marysville have been changed. The JV will now play at 5:30 in the Aux gym of MHS and the Varsity will play at 7:00 in the Main Gym

  • 2/17 JVG Basketball: MCHS 29 - 38 LCN After playing to a 13-13 tie at the half, the Lady Mariners were outscored by 9 points in the last two quarters. Erin Badke led the team with 7 points, Kennedy Osterland added 6, Lauren Morris and Kennedi Sobol had 5 each, Kelsey DeSnyder scored 3, Kate Merrill had 2, and Avery Osterland added 1.

  • Student-Athlete of the Week: 2/20-2/25 Congratulations to Erin Badke, the Mariner Student-Athlete of the Week!!!Academic:Erin has earned one of the top GPA's in her class for the same reasons that she has been successful on the basketball floor-- an outstanding work ethic and a strong desire to excel. Her dedication to her academics and her athletics exemplifies what it means to be a true student-athlete.Athletic:Erin stepped up her game and took on a larger role on the Junior Varsity team this year, becoming the main point guard and one of the leading scorers. She was very coachable and a great role model for her teammates, as she always worked hard to improve.

  • Student-Athlete of the Week: 2/20-2/25 Congratulations to Antonia Potvin, the Mariner Student-Athlete of the Week!!!Academic:Antonia has worked very hard the past 4 years in the classroom. She has shown much improvement throughout the years. She has also done a tremendous job teaching her basketball knowledge to our youth programs.Athletic:As our point guard, Antonia is asked to take care of the basketball and get the team organized on offense. She also is arguably the best defender that has ever played at MCHS. We know that her hard work in the classroom and on the court has paid off as she has committed to join the SC4 girls basketball team this fall.

  • Student-Athlete of the Week: 2/20-2/25 Congratulations to Luke Ames, the Mariner Student-Athlete of the Week!!!Academic:Luke is a senior this year with an impressive 3.3 GPA and a class load that includes college courses. He is a well rounded individual with intelligence, a sense of humor and the drive to succeed.Athletic:Luke has been an asset to the team this year. Beginning in October for preseason conditioning he lead the boys swim team in workouts that helped jump start our season of success. Luke is a captain and does the job well, he motivates the team, swims his events with very impressive times and always shows good sportsmanship. Luke is very deserving of the athlete of the week recognition.
