Escambia County is offering a Summer Youth Employment Program for ages 16-24, working in various County departments.  To learn more go to their website at,  The deadline for applications to be delivered to the county office is Friday, May 18.

 Northview's the talent show is at 7:00 this evening. Admission is $3. 


Any girl interesting in lifting weights over the summer, see Coach Nall. A calendar has been made for summer lifting.

Those participating in the talent show should meet Mr. Huber in band room for a couple minutes after school. 


Project Graduation will be held on May 19, 2018 in the school theater from 9:00 PM until 12:00 AM on Sunday.   There will be food (pizza and Oriental Food), drinks, snacks, games and movies provided at no cost to the student.  There will be adequate staff participation to include our very own School Resource Officer; teachers and staff members are cordially invited to attend.  The evening will proceed as follows:

·         9:00 PM – Check in through the student parking lot entrance.  All bags are searched.

·         9:30 PM – Food, drinks, socializing

·         The remainder of the evening/early morning will depend on what all the students want to do – after all, this is your first class reunion.  What this really means is that the students can decide to watch movies, play games or just eat a lot, but we will all be doing the same thing together.

o   On the subject of movies and games, if you have a favorite one in mind, tell Mr. Shugart by Monday, May 14th  and I will compile a list and forward it for approval.

One final note.  You are not required to RSVP; however, you are required to check in at the time listed above.  See you there!


The track banquet will be held 5/16 before school in Mrs. Cook's room.  All track athletes are welcome to join us for awards and goodies.  See you there.

On Saturday, the boy's track team participated in the Washington Invitational. There were 22 teams there and Northview tied with Washington for 5th. Beating teams like Tate, West Florida, Navarre, Milton, and several others. Congratulations to the boy's track team for this mighty feat. GO CHIEFS!!!!

The NHS FFA Alumni and Friends would like to invite you to attend this year's Blue Jacket Jamboree on Saturday, March 24th. Lydia Moretz, the daughter of Mr. Moretz, lost her life in an accident on March 3, 2018. A celebration of life gathering will be held on March 17, 2018, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home North in Cantonment. Family may gather at 12:30. Friends may join from 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Northview's NJROTC held its annual military ball Saturday, February 3 at the Mustin Beach Officer's Club onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola with Washington and Pine Forest High School's NJROTC units. Over 270 cadets and their dates attended the event.

 High school student in need of volunteer service hours: Escambia Education Association (EEA) has an opportunity for you!  EEA will award hours for Bright Future scholarship, etc. for time spent helping.
     On Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 10:00 AM, high school students may help collate 40,000 Student Identification Kits.  Each elementary teacher in Escambia county will receive a stack with enough for his/her classroom.  
     Students may bring food and drink, music and ear buds, and enjoy earning those volunteer service hours while fellowshipping with other high school students.  So, be sure to bring the form to record these hours.  Plus, everything is indoors to avoid the weather!

The Florida Legislature enacted requirements (Section 322.091, F.S.) that students who attain the age of 14 and accumulate 15 unexcused absences in a period of 90 calendar days be ineligible to receive or maintain driving privileges. In order to make parents and students aware before reporting the student's name to the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles (FL DMV), a letter is to be sent home when students have reached 10 days of unexcused absences in a 90 day window.

Northwest  Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes held their “Go The Distance” award banquet for swimming and cross country athletes at First Baptist Church Of Pensacola on November 6, 2017. 

Northview cross country runners Aurora McCann and Tanner Levins were chosen by their teammates for the award based on their integrity, dedication, character, and FCA values. 

They received a medal and a letter of congratulations from Congressman Matt Gaetz.

Congratulations to ROTC for their performance at the Navy JROTC drill meet at Milton High School this past weekend.  Northview competed against 7 schools and placed 4th overall.   They were Second in Personnel Inspection; and Third in Armed Exhibition Drill.  For individual awards, Oscar Rodriguez placed Fifth in Individual Drill competition from over 200 cadets.  Congratulations!

Tomorrow, Tuesday October 31st is Halloween dress up day!  If you would like to participate then dress up and bring your $2.00.  SGA will be set up in the front hallway to take your money!!!!  

Remember costumes should be school appropriate and if you do dress up, you must buy a ticket!  Prizes will be given for the best costume on each grade level.

Cross Country will participate in the EscaRosa County Championship meet on Saturday, October 14, 2017,  at the Escambia County Equestrian Center, located at 7750 Mobile Highway, Pensacola.

        The Boys Varsity 5K race will be at 8:30 a.m.

Congratulations to Zachary Prosser for winning this year's VFW essay competition. This year's theme was "American History: Our Hope for the Future." Northview had 34 participants this year!  Second place was awarded to Marissa Rothrock, and third place went to Will Beach.  Students will receive recognition from Atmore's VFW, and Zachary will advance to the next level of competition.

Congratulations to the boys and girls golf team on their wins yesterday at Cypress Lakes Golf Course!  Emily Boutwell placed 1st overall among the girls from Tate, Washington, and Pine Forest.

The boys notched their second win over Pine Forest with Braxton Edwards earning team's best score followed closely by Jace Weber who had the second best score in the match.

Next week on Thursday the team will travel to Tanglewood Golf Course in Milton where they will play against Jay and Baker.

The winning shirt selected by the committee will receive a free shirt and the satisfaction of seeing your product worn by 100’s of people. We will be playing Pensacola Catholic High School on October 13th. Their mascot is the Crusaders.


Congratulations to the boy's golf team for placing 1st in yesterday's match against Pine Forest at Osceola golf course.  Best score goes to Braxton Edwards followed by Jace Weber with the second best score, Jesse Powell and Drew Shelly.

For the girl's team, Emily Boutwell had the best score followed by Meredith McGhee, who was playing in her first scored match.

The team's next match event will be on Sept. 19 at Cypress Lakes playing against Tate and Pine Forest.
