External Scholarships and Graduate Fellowships

Each year Eckerd College students compete for and win national scholarship and fellowship awards. Winning a nationally competitive scholarship or fellowship is a great honor and a way of earning a distinction you will carry with you through the rest of your life. Not all of these awards require a perfect 4.0 GPA or an extensive resume. With a clear sense of purpose and careful preparation, you might join the ranks of award winners.

Most campus deadlines for major graduate fellowships occur in the fall semester of the senior year. Because winning proposals usually involve several revised drafts and the submission of official transcripts, GRE scores, recommendations from professors, and sometimes a committee interview, an early start is necessary. Don't wait for your mentor to urge you to apply.

One way or another, the application process is beneficial in helping you crystallize your goals for graduate study and your career aspirations. If you have an excellent academic record, you owe it to yourself to enter the competition.

This website provides an overview of some important fellowships and scholarships available for both underclassmen and those students preparing for graduate study. More information about these awards can be obtained by visiting the contact page.
