Podcast: Helping Transportation Map The Routes

Shown Above (Left to Right): James Bell and Glenn Arismendez with a successful print-out of a bus route.

Earlier today, Glenn Arismendez was working hard to get the map routes to print out properly. "They aren't printing out as big as they should," I remarked to myself as I looked at the print-out. Indeed, the bus routes--that are carried by bus drivers--need to be a larger print size so they are easily viewable. Unfortunately, the print-outs from Transfinder were not.

James Bell and another ECTO team member went over to Glenn to see how they could fix the problem. The problem was a mess of print driver settings. "What if we think outside the box?" asked James. As a result, the ECTO team installed Greenshot, a Windows screen capture program that allows Glenn to "take a picture" of the screen, then send it to the printer.

After verifying the solution worked, a short video tutorial was recorded for Glenn. That way, Glenn could watch it again when he needed to remember the multi-step process to printing bus routes.

Thanks to Glenn for being such a good sport and kudos to James Bell!
