    • Other email provider
      • We don't recommend using an email provider that has no affiliation with the University of Maryland but this can be done by setting your primary email address as indicated in the next bullet to whatever email address you wish to use.  Note that in this case we cannot do much to help troubleshoot any email issues that may occur.
    • Regardless of what option you pick you must:
      • Contact your departmental help desk to let us know where to forward your account@department_name.umd.edu email.  For Google Apps departmental, just let us know you want to use that account and we will create the account, provide the access information to you, and set up the forward.  For Google Apps UMD, tell us to forward your departmental mail to your account@umd.edu address.  For a private email provider, tell us the email address you want to forward your departmental mail to.
      • Set your email forward for your @umd.edu address.  For Google Apps Departmental, use account@department_name.umd.edu as your primary email address.  For Google Apps UMD, use account@g.umd.edu as your primary email address.  For Terpmail, use account@terpmail.umd.edu as your primary email address.
