Mission Statement: 
The mission of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System Department of Counseling and Guidance is to implement an evidence-based comprehensive school counseling program in grades K-12. This will be achieved by promoting student success through a focus on academic achievement, personal/social and career development, student advocacy and emotional development in order to meet the needs of the students and the community of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.

Department of Counseling and Guidance:
The School Counseling Departments in the East Baton Rouge ParishSchool system provide a nurturing, supportive and safe environment so that all students can achieve success in school and are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society.

In partnership with students, staff, and community, the Department of Counseling and Guidance fosters development of self-advocacy skills, personal-social-emotional wellness, and academic-career success in a compassionate and supportive environment.

The Louisiana School Counseling Model (LaSCM) - A Comprehensive Student Development Program. It is designed to create one vision and one voice for school counseling programs.

The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) supports school counselors' efforts to help students focus on academic, career and social/emotional development so they achieve success in school and are prepared to lead fulfilling lives as responsible members of society.
