Year 1 (2012-2013)
  • Our school received a"B" rating on our first progress report which includes a "B" rating on Student Progress and School Environment.
  • Quality Review: The school received a Proficient rating
  • The Learning Environment showed:
                    a.In all four areas of the survey: academic expectations, communication, engagement and safety areas of the survey the score increased from the previous year's ratings.
                    b.The response rates for teacher and students increased from the previous year's rating.
  • Developed 2 CBO partnerships served as our advisors for gender specific advisory programming.
  • Ms. Daniel applied and received three competitive grants, bringing over $1,081,000 to the school that included: SIG School Improvement Grant; awarded $750,000; MSQI-Middle School Quality Initiative; awarded $131,000 and 1 out of 20 schools to receive the MSExtra program (ELT); 21st Century Grant; awarded $200,000.
Year 2 (2013-2014)
  • EFCRS was removed from the New York State's "Persistently Dangerous" list based on the decrease in the school's VADIR(Violence) index from 2.14 to 0.20.
  • Developed and/or fostered relationships with the following major CBO partnerships: University Settlement, The Leadership Program, Counseling in schools, and Teaching Matters. Each partnership was to support the instructional core, climate culture and maintain systems for improvement.
  • Our Middle School Quality Snapshot showed: 86% average pass rate, 89% of our former 8th graders earn HS credit in 9th grade (Exceeding Target) and 95% of parents were satisfied with the school.
Year 3(2014-2015)
  • Quality Review: The school received a Proficient rating.
  • Awarded Arts Turnaround National Grant: White House initiative headed by the First Lady Mrs. Michelle Obama - provides the staff with professional development and resources to promote Arts Education. Our celebrity ambassador is Edward Norton.
  • Awarded Middle School Arts Matter Grant.

 Year 4(Rigorous Instruction, 2015-2016)
  • Partnered with Teacher's College Reading/Writing Curriculum for ELA
  • Partnered with AVID:College Readiness Program.
