East Bronx Academy for the Future is hiring for the 2017-2018 School Year

East Bronx Academy for the Future is currently seeking certified teachers in all subject areas who:

  • Have a passion for teaching and demonstrate a love for, and strength in, their subject.

  • Have high expectations for and a record of successful work with urban middle or high school students (through the use of assessment data, curriculum, and instruction).

  • Are willing to assume multiple roles, learn new skills and work collaboratively.

  • Are experienced in using technology as a tool to increase student learning and/or conducting hands-on learning activities.

  • Are committed to continuous professional growth through self-reflection and exchanging critical feedback with colleagues.

East Bronx Academy is a small, 6th-12th grade school where we know that all people learn by doing.

  • Our mission is to reach all students by using technology and hands-on, active learning to make sure students learn the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in college and the world of work.

  • Our school day includes extended periods of study designed to allow deep learning about an area of study.

  • EBA students are nurtured and supported by caring adult advisors who make sure they are on track academically and socially.

East Bronx Academy is a collaborative community.

Teachers at EBA work in a team structure, where they collaborate every day to meet students’ needs and to learn from one another. Teacher teams are vital to the school’s mission, making decisions about issues ranging from schedule to curriculum to hiring, mission, and vision. Teachers and other staff members worked together to plan the school, and this collaboration is built into the daily life of the school.

We are located in a newer building at 1716 Southern Boulevard.

(174th Street Stop on the #2 and #5 train and intersection of Boston Road and 174th Street)

If interested, please email a cover letter and resume to:
