Warm Up- Crown to Spur Gear

The gear is a simple machine. It is a toothed wheel that precisely meshes with another toothed wheel. Two or more gears are used to transfer force, transfer speed or change direction. 

In this Warm-Up, mesh a curved crown gear into the teeth of the spur gear to change the direction of movement.

• Will the system work from both directions? 

• What direction (horizontal or vertical) does the crown gear turn in relation to the spur gear?
