PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME

Dear East Haven High School Families:

Welcome to East Haven High School! I hope you and your family had an enjoyable summer and spent some time relaxing, recharging or reconnecting as we prepare for the school year. Included in this letter is some important procedural information for East Haven High School. For those not aware, the East Haven Public Schools has extended the school day by an additional 30 minutes this year to increase instructional time for students. As such, our school day will begin promptly at 7:25am and end at 2:20pm.

East Haven High School will continue to communicate with families on a regular basis using our School Messenger system,  which pulls contact information directly from PowerSchool, to send emails, phone calls and text messages to families. It is critical that your contact information is accurate and up-to-date in PowerSchool. Below are the directions to update your contact information directly in PowerSchool. Information can also be changed throughout the year in the event you get a new phone number, a new email, change addresses, etc. Below are the procedures for updating your information through PowerSchool:

PowerSchool access is critical as it will allow you to monitor your student’s attendance and academic performance. Please use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to access your student’s academic and attendance records. From the PowerSchool Parent Portal, you can also communicate with teachers directly by clicking their name to send an email.

In addition to phone, email and text messages, our newly designed website contains information and documents that will be needed throughout the year.  We will also use social media to promote our school and our students, as well as to share information.

I hope to see you at our many student activities, Back-to-School/Open House night, Parent/Teacher conferences, and during our Parent Advisory meetings. The success of your student will be based largely on the partnership between the parent/guardians and the school, and we look forward to building a strong partnership with both your input and your involvement.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call the main office at 203-468-3254.

Respectfully yours,
