Jump Rope for Heart

Since we started doing Jump Rope for Heart in 2009, Deer Run has raised over $31,000 for the American Heart Association!!! We could not have done this without the support of our Deer Run family! Mrs. Black is excited to volunteer another year for the American Heart Association. She will help lead our school to participate in Jump Rope/Hoops For Heart. Leading up to our event, she will teach students how the heart works and that exercise can be fun! We have also asked the students to raise money to support the heart association's research and education initiatives that save lives in our community. Additionally, our school earns money for PE equipment so we can keep our kids MOVING! What's great about this event is that it not only helps fight heart disease, which is the #1 killer, but it also encourages a healthy lifestyle which is such an important thing. If you don't have a healthy body, you can't learn and be your best self.
