Snapshot Autobiography

This is the first project for social studies. We will go through each step together so all students understand expectations.

The first step was completed during social studies on Friday, August 25th. Students wrote a story about an important event in their life. They should choose a story they have heard before, but perhaps someone else knows their story better than them.

Examples: 1st day of school, story of their birth, 1st steps, etc.

The second step is for students to interview someone about their event to get accurate details. There is a note catcher for this part of the assignment and it is attached below. Students need to compare the two stories on the note catcher. This is due Wednesday, August 30th.

Next steps will be to write about 3 more important life events. After that, illustrations and photos will be added, along with a cover and a timeline/About the Author summary. We will be putting it all together into a brochure for their portfolio.

The final copy will be due on September 1st and any revisions will be due on September 12th.

We will be working on this during class Wednesday-Friday (8/30-9/1).
