As Pastor Steve shared with us this past Sunday, when Jesus comes across a man who was crippled, He asks Him, "Do you want to get well?" As a question, the answer would seem to be completely obvious. Who wouldn't want to get well?  But, for Jesus, this is not simply a question... it is also an invitation.
Jesus invites us into renewal.
We all have our share of difficulties and shortcomings.  Life has dealt each one of us our own share of hardships.  Things have happened to each one of us that we did not ask for.  And, as these adversities become a "new normal" for us, we begin to lose hope that anything will ever change.  But the Good News of Jesus is that, one day, all things will be set right.  Jesus has come to bring renewal.
Our full renewal awaits the future.
This story demonstrates the renewal that Jesus has come to bring.  After 38 years of being an invalid, suddenly this man is made whole.  In an instant.  This is a picture of the full renewal of all things that will occur on that final day, which will happen "in a twinkling of an eye".   In an instant, all things will be set right.  Sin will be no more, death will be undone.  This is the glorious future that awaits us.
Our full renewal invades the present.
But our hope is not simply a future hope.  Jesus' promise that all things will one day be set right should influence how we live, here and now.  That future renewal can begin to invade our present.  We can begin to live the Life of the Kingdom, here and now.  Maybe not in all of its fullness, but we can still begin to taste of the life that is yet to come.  Sin can begin to fall away. Forgiveness can be received and given.  Love can be shared.  We can begin to become a new kind of person, right here and now. And, it all begins with an invitation.

May we walk in the Image of God this week!

Food Pantry - This Thursday, June 13th!

This is our week to serve at the Lakeland Pantry.  Eaglebrook Church serves at the Lakeland Pantry every other Thursday from 3pm-6pm.

We can always use a few new volunteers, so if you're looking for a way to show and reflect the love of Jesus... this is great way to be a blessing to those who are struggling.  We also have a ton of fun!

We Need Your Help!

Looking for a way to help out and get more involved?  Here are three ways you could be a HUGE help:

Cleaning Crews -- Each week, families help out by cleaning the church.  The more families we have to help out, the less often each family is on the rotation.  Would you consider helping out in this area?  If so, please contact Jani

Children's Ministry --  Do you have a heart for working with children?  We could always use a few more volunteers to help in the Nursery or with our Children's Ministries.  For more information, please contact Arnie.
Food Pantry -- Every other Thursday, we help serve at the Lakeland Food Pantry from 3pm-6pm.  This is a great way to serve and bless others in need.  We could always use a few extra hands.  Would you be willing to serve once a month?  If so, please contact Arnie.

Next Elder Board Meeting - July 8th

The next Elder Meeting is scheduled for:

Monday, July 8th at 6:30pm

If you have any issues or concerns that you would like the Elder Board to discuss at the next meeting, please talk to any of the Elders.

Scripture of the Week
Romans 8:18 (NIV) --
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

This past Sunday we took a look at a very important question... do we really want to change?

Jesus has provided all the resources necessary... we just have to lay down our excuses, lean into Him, and live in the changes that He makes!

This Sunday, we take a look at a common misconception of God... and how Jesus reminds us that He is our Good Good Father.

I hope that you'll be here with us this Father's Day Sunday if you are in town!

I love being your pastor!
