2015 Dysart Override - Factual Information

The Dysart School District Governing Board authorized placing a Maintenance and Operations Override on the November 3, 2015 ballot.

If approved, Override funding will be utilized for the classroom to:

  • Retain highly qualified teachers and staff and maintain manageable class sizes

  • Support high quality programs producing educational outcomes that drive economic development, generate a competitive workforce, and protect the value of the communities and properties

  • Support art, music, band, physical education and athletics

  • Provide additional support for math and reading

  • Provide all-day Kindergarten at no additional cost to parents

If a new override is not passed in November 2015, additional teacher and staff positions will be lost, resulting in further increases in class size and additional program cuts. If a new override is not approved by voters, another $6 million will be lost for 2016-17 and again in 2017-18 for a total budget reduction of $18 million over 3 years.

The last day to register to vote is October 5th and early ballots will be mailed out on October 8th.  Election Day is November 3rd.

For more factual information about the Override, please visit the District website for more information.

Parent Pick Up/Drop Off Reminders

The Surprise Police department has reminded us of a few bits of information that we want to share with you.  They are monitoring our streets on Sweetwater and Whispering Winds.  Here are some things to keep in the forefront while dropping or picking up your child from Marley Park.

·         Follow the speed limits posted.  The speed limit is 15 mph in a school zone.

·         When crossing with your child, please remember to use the crosswalk.

·         It is illegal to park in the bike lane.  Bike lanes are located on Sweetwater and Whispering Winds.

Remember we have the lot on the south side of Sweetwater, west of Marley Park School, and the parking lot directly in front of the school where you may park.

We want to thank all of our families for always looking out for the safety of our students.  Since the Surprise Police Department has been out and monitoring, we wanted to send these reminders out for all of our families.
