Four talented Teacher/Naturalists have the chance to live and work at the Seashore House each school year. The staff is balanced with two men and two women. As of August 11th, we are looking for an experienced, energetic and outgoing male teacher/naturalist to round out the team for the 2015-16 school year.
Responsibilities: Teacher/Naturalists lead 3 hikes/lessons
per day for their teaching group. Teachers develop and present experiential lessons based
on the MA Education Frameworks and Common Core Standards. Lessons are centered on the local environments (Beach
& Dune, Dune Forest, Kettlehole pond, Freshwater Swamps) and history
(Pilgrims, Shipwrecks & U.S. Lifesaving Service). Lessons also
include: Nightwalk, Group Dynamics, and Pizza Making. Teachers are also responsible on a rotating basis for helping with meal preparation
and serving, bedtime duties, group supervision during short bus trips to
various natural and historical areas of the outer Cape, and the overall care
and maintenance of the facility. Work week is Monday 8 am through Friday 2 pm. Each Teacher/Naturalist has one day (9:30-4:30) and one evening (after 7 pm) off during the work week. Weekends are free.
Dates: September 12, 2015 - early June 2016. One week off at Thanksgiving, two weeks off at Christmas/New Years. One week off for February Break. (Week of President's Day).
Salary: Salary is paid bi-weekly through out the school year, private room and board are provided.

Opening will be advertised locally in The Banner and The Cape Cod Times.
It is a 20 hour per week position with fixed days and hours.
Preparation and serving of 6 set meals each week (with assistance)
Placing weekly order for produce and milk
Ordering and receiving dry & frozen foods
Maintaining a safe and clean kitchen
Opening and Closing of kitchen for fall and spring turnover

Weekly Schedule for meals:
Monday 10 am - 1:30 pm; 4 pm-7 pm
Tuesday 4 pm - 7 pm
Wednesday 10:30 am - 2 pm; 5 pm- 7 pm
Thursday 4 pm - 7 pm
Ordering, Inventory and Receiving make up the extra hours that will be determined upon hiring
