"Man was created as a being who should constantly keep improving, a being who on reaching one goal sets a higher one."
-Ralph Ransom

Welcome!
On behalf of the Dunlap CUSD #323 staff, we welcome you to learn about how technology will be used to improve our already excellent classrooms.

What is 1:1 Technology, in general?
The goal of 1:1 technology is to provide equitable access to technology for every student within a school district as a means to enhance and transform teaching, regardless of subject area, in an effort to create digitally literate learners.

What does 1:1 Technology look like in Dunlap?
There are a multitude of avenues that a district can choose when beginning a 1:1 technology initiative. Dunlap CUSD #323 believes that technology is to be used as a means to enhance and transform the way teachers deliver content to students. Technology is not a replacement of the established and effective methods that our teachers continue to use that make our district excel, rather, it allows teachers to create more learning opportunities tailored to students' individual needs. Face-to-face interaction between a teacher and student, as well as a student and his or her peers, continues to be highly valued for refinement of the explicit and implicit social skills necessary to ensure college and career readiness.
Starting spring 2016, Dunlap will pilot 1:1 technology in 11 of our classrooms. Information about the objectives of the program and expectations of students and staff can be found on the "Spring 2016 Pilot" page. As the district receives feedback from all stakeholders, the vision of 1:1 learning will be refined and continually visited to ensure it fits our culture.

1:1 Implementation Plan Recommendation Presentation
After exhausting research, a successful pilot and much discussion, on Wednesday, May 17, 2016, the 1:1 Committee made its formal recommendation to the Board of Education, outlining how 1:1 technology would give teachers an incredibly powerful tool to prepare individualized, differentiated and project-based learning experiences.
