Teacher Spotlight

  • Dillon Southerland By Rachel CruzDillon Southerland is a seventh grade science teacher this year, and recently his classes did their first experiment with him.Last week, students learned about transfer of heat.Jesus Ramirez said he learned if you put a balloon that has a little bit of water in it over flames it does not pop. Also he learned three different ways of heat transfer. They were radiation, convection and conduction. Ramirez said it was fun and entertaining to watch. Southerland said he got this experiment idea from the Internet. He said he did this experiment because that’s what students were learning and was inexpensive to put together.
