2nd Grade:
Benchmark: Unit 3 Week 1
  • Identify Key Details and Determine Main Ideas

  • Use Text Features to Locate Information

  • Build Vocabulary: Use Context Clues

  • Use Text Evidence to Draw Inferences

  • Make Connections Across Texts
Phonics: r-controlled /ar/ syllable patterns; add inflectional endings -ed, -ing with no spelling change
Language: Capitalize geographic names
Math: Topic 4 test. We will have two weeks of no new math instruction. Students will be in learning centers and taking end of tri 1 assessments.
Social Studies:  3 branches of government
Art: Haunted House painting & Collective Nouns art project
Writing: Small moment narrative complete draft
Buddy Class: Art mosaic
Grammar: Combining and Rearranging sentences

3rd Grade:
Benchmark: Unit 3 Week 2
  • Main Idea

    *Headphones- labeled with child’s name in a Ziplock bag (for use with                    

                                                   

     

    *Each child must bring a Plastic pencil box-labeled with your child’s name with the following for personal use:

    (1) Child’s scissors: Fiskars brand, pointed tip                            

    (1) pink eraser

    (1) yellow Sharpie highlighter

    (1) Elmer’s glue stick (standard size- .24oz)

    (1) red ballpoint pen (non-click)

    (1) black or blue pen (non-click)

    (1) pack of post-it notes

    (1) 12-pack of Crayola colored pencils (no Twistables) – put NAME on box                              

    (1) pack of THIN TIP crayola markers – put NAME on box

    (1) 24-pack of Crayola crayons - put NAME on box
