Pre-meeting Field Trip - Friday morning

Friday, October 11

7 am - 10 am

Join staff from the N.C. National Estuarine Research Reserve to kayak to the largest undeveloped barrier island complex in southern N.C. The Masonboro Island Reserve is a state nature preserve and part of the N.C. National Estuarine Research Reserve. During this three-hour field trip, you will paddle through a near pristine tidal creek and marsh system to land on a beautiful barrier island beach, take a walk along the ocean beach, and return to the mainland with the falling tide. Hopefully, diamondback terrapins will be spotted along the way!

Participants will meet at Trails End Park.
