Rehoboth PTSA Minutes
December 2, 2015
The meeting was called to order by Karen DeRoche at 6:06 pm.
Approval of Minutes
The minutes were read from the November 4, 2015,
meeting and approved.
Principal’s Report
Mrs.Miguel discussed the parent conferences, which were
taking place prior to report cards sent home.
She also discussed the enrichment programs including Brett Barcalan
for the 4th graders, Bill Harley for 3rd graders,
Symphonic/ nature program for second graders and Books and Ballet for 1st
graders. Kindergarten is yet to be
determined. The goal of these enrichment
programs is to expose the children to new areas and interests. Mrs. Miguel noted that she appreciates the
PTSA support. Coming up is the Holiday
Sing along on December 23rd that will end a fun month.
Mr.Pirraglia mentioned the current events at Beckwith
including the Open House, the Book fair, the 8th grade field trip to
the trinity theatre, basketball, winter concert at the high school and picture
day retakes. He thanked the volunteers,
especially Jennifer Moitoso with the Book fair.
Treasurer’s Report- Traci Cady
Traci spoke of it being a good month and
Genevieve being very successful.in bringing in $17,000 between both
schools. The profits from this were
$7,600. Receipts from the 5K and O’ Lantern Festival
have been passed in. There is close to $30,000 in checking account. PTSA is in great shape and the bulk of the
Fundraising has been done.
Committee Reports
Genevieve- Traci Cady noted Monday between 3 and
6 would be picked up at Beckwith.
Reminders would be in the daily announcements, emails and phone
calls. Pick up during this specific time
is essential because there is no cold storage.
Traci Cady, Nancy Breault and Melissa Goulart would set up in cafeteria
at 1:00 where items would be unpacked and alphabetized. rReflections- Karen DeRoche said the information
had gone out that day and the deadline would be January 7th 2016. PEG Grant- Karen DeRoche reminded that the
deadline was December 16th. Only
a couple submissions had been received. Providence Bruin Night- Karen DeRoche noted the
deadline was Friday. Restaurant of the Month- Susan Bogosian. The earnings from the Ice Cream Barn had not
been determined yet. This month’s
restaurant is the Rehoboth House of Pizza.
This will be followed by Vino’s in January. Silent
Auction- Susan Bogosian. The date
has been set as March 11th at the Hillside Country Club. There will be a dj.
Motion to adjourn was made at 6:27 and was passed
unanimously.
