Writing Lit Standard 4

Grades 6-8:
Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to the task, purpose, and audience.

 Keyboarding  Write a letter to yourself twenty years in the future.  Start with your current self and describe the next twenty year's happenings. (narrative)
 Introduction to Business  Choose a business-related career and write a summary of the career including job description, wages, job outlook, etc. (informational)
 CTSO  Write a letter to elementary kids as an elf from the North Pole and deliver it to the kids. (narrative)
 
Grades 9-10:
Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to the task, purpose, and audience.

 CTSO  Develop a to-do list/calendar of events/Program of Work for a CTSO for the year.
 Employability Skills      Write a step-by-step description of how to make a peanut butter sandwich (or other process) and teach it to the class only from the described process. (process)
 Entrepreneurship  Research a current or past business leader.  Write a timeline of his/her life.  (process/narrative)
 
Grades 11-12:
Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to the task, purpose, and audience.

 CTSO  Write a letter to a local business requesting financial assistance for a trip or event. (informational)
 Desktop Publishing  Write an article for the school newspaper.  (informational/argument)
