District Overall Mission and Objectives:

The Waunakee Community School District’s mission statement is Committed to Children, Committed to Community, Committed to Excellence.
The Objectives for the Waunakee Community School District are:
  • Student Achievement - The Waunakee Community School District will provide high-quality programs for all students that lead to continued improvement on all measures of student achievement.
  • District and School Climate/Wellness - The Waunakee Community School District will provide a safe, secure, and connected environment for students, staff, and community.
  • Community Relations - The Waunakee Community School District will strive for meaningful collaboration with stakeholders and will ensure that communication between school, home, and community is continual and open.

District Technology Vision The Waunakee Community School District believes that all can learn and that technology can enhance the learning experience. We will implement and integrate technology to facilitate learning so that students have the knowledge and skills to be productive members of our global society.

District Technology Mission It is the mission of the Waunakee Community School District to effectively integrate technology as a teaching, learning, and information sharing tool to carry out these purposes:

  • Develop information literacy to empower staff and student learning so that they acquire the knowledge and skills needed to achieve academically and be productive citizens in a global society.
  • Provide an equitable learning environment to foster academic achievement and support students in meeting the state standards.
  • Educate students to effectively use technology tools to communicate, create, collaborate and share their ideas.
  • Educate students to make ethical and informed decisions.
  • Prepare students for success in continuing education or the workplace.
  • Build communities and forge partnerships with families, businesses, and community members.
  • Create a professional learning community, which provides training and staff development opportunities that develop skills and support innovation.
  • Use resources efficiently and strategically to ensure productivity and fiscal responsibility.
LMTC and Computer Resource Mission
The mission of the Waunakee Community Schools library media and technology program is to ensure that students and staff are effective and self-assured users of ideas, information, and technology for life-long learning.

  • 1. To provide intellectual access to information that represents a diversity of experiences, opinions, and social and cultural perspectives for a diverse population whose needs are changing rapidly.
  • 2. To ensure equitable physical access to materials and services by providing adequate facilities, resources, and staffing.
  • 3. To stimulate and guide students in all phases of listening, reading, viewing, creating, and collaborating with others for learning and enjoyment.
  • 4. To collaborate with teaching staff to design and provide instruction that develops students’ media literacy, research, and technology skills as addressed in current information and technology literacy standards.
