Introduction and Purpose

The School District of Three Lakes is located in north central Wisconsin, 50 miles north of Antigo.  The school district is comprised of the townships of Sugar Camp, Three Lakes, Monico, and parts of Stella, Piehl, and Hiles.  The district consists of a 4K-12 facility in Three Lakes and a 4K-6 facility in Sugar Camp.  The total area of the school district is approximately 300 square miles.  There are approximately 97 employees in the district. Enrollment in 2014-2015 school year was 505 students. While the District is committed to providing the latest technology, fluctuating enrollment trends make it challenging to maintain educational opportunities for students and keep our technology current.

Serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade, the School District of Three Lakes strives for balanced programs and quality in supporting the school district’s mission of “Teaching students to be productive citizens.” As a means to that end, the district's mission in regard to information and technology is to "Equip learners with skills to use information and technology as tools to achieve their goals."

The district vision statement for information and technology is "To live, learn, and work successfully in an increasingly complex and information-rich society, learners must be able to use information and technology effectively. Students and staff, therefore, will receive educational opportunities and equity of access to become competent and comfortable with information and technology resources in order to pursue and realize their dreams. Technology will assist in individualizing and expanding learning/teaching options. We expect that each user will be committed to the responsible use of technology in an ethical manner."

With community support, district students enjoy modern facilities, now including a fabrication laboratory connecting all students in the district to the creation process through collaboration both within and beyond the school walls. Classrooms are wired for technology; there are spacious instructional centers with attached computer labs and a fully implemented one-to-one program at grades five through twelve. The district also includes a modern 500 seat auditorium, and a football and track/field facility. -- Last updated on: 7/22/15
