Magdalene Catholic College is a learning community where students, parents, teachers and others are in partnership.
A collaborative, caring community that fosters the total development of each individual, allowing one to find personal identity and live a happy productive and meaningful life.

Magdalene operates a BYODD (Bring Your Own Designated Device) 1:1 Learning Technology program. This requires every student to supply his or her own Apple MacBook. Parents of year 7 -12 students will be given several options, which will give your child access to an Apple Laptop, hard-drive and carry case.

Why Apple MacBook
The decision to continue using laptops in years 7 - 12 is part of a whole school Technology plan. Many schools in our Diocese and throughout Australia are now taking advantage of new learning technologies and are using laptops. But as students move into year 10 the Technology requirements become more demanding and the type of work and learning that takes place in years 7 -12 requires a device with more computing power and storage space.

For this reason, the current Technology plan will have all year 7-12 students learning and accessing technology with a more powerful device in the form of an Apple Notebook.

The BYOD 1:1 program Magdalene Catholic College aims to support all students in improving student engagement, participation and achievement. Notebooks are a powerful tool for collaboration, active participation, critical thinking, innovation and discovery.
