Welcome to the new Dover Community Association (CIO) - DCA. Charity Registration No. 1164957 We are here t In December 2012 the property, Cleary House, was sold as changing demands made it no longer the ideal place for this Association. In March 2016 we received, via a community asset transfer from Dover District Council, Biggin Hall, a 19th century building situated just behind the Town Council Offices. This property has now been fully renovated by volunteers, mainly from the Rotary Club of Dover, to give access to the community. Further work on the immediate surrounding areas of the premises is hoped to carried out in the future. After much consultation and a final agreement at an AGM a new body has been formed with the full transfer of the assets from the old Dover Community Association to a now fully constituted new Dover Community Association (CIO). We are delighted that The Future Foundry has taken permanent residence in the premises to run their own training and courses for the local community and to enable the organisation to rent out the space as and when required. We still have even greater plans for the future of the DCA and the greater community of Dover.
If you wish to be part of making a change to Dover and feel you have what it takes to help then please let us know by providing your e-mail address and we keep you up to-date and would like to see you at our meetings. Nicholas Humphery-Smith Chairman |
