About Mrs. Piotrowski

Welcome to PGJH and the 2018-19 school year!

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tracy Piotrowski, and I will be the 6th grade resource teacher this year.  This is my twelfth year at Prairie Grove and my eighteenth year of teaching special education students.  I started teaching special ed students in 1991 after receiving my Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University.  I continued my education at National-Louis University, where I received a Master's Degree in 1997. Teaching the whole student and helping students academically, socially and emotionally is a passion of mine!
On a personal note... My husband and I have lived in this area since 1994.  We have two boys, Travis and Trey.  Travis graduated in 2012 from Prairie Grove Junior High, and Trey graduated in 2015. I'm not only a teacher in the district but also a parent and part of this wonderful community. This school holds a special place in my heart, and I care deeply for all the children who are here.
This year, I will be co-teaching an 8th grade Literature/LA class with Mrs. Heather Wilke. We both share similar philosophies about teaching and believe every student can be successful. In addition to the co-taught class, I will be teaching two direct instruction 6th grade classes. This includes a 6th grade direct instruction Literature/LA block and a 6th grade math resource class.
