    Homework:
    *Reading: Read for 20 minutes. The Kids A-Z app is great resource. 
    *Math: Chapter 10, Lesson 5 - Rounding Numbers to Estimate (pages 13-19) is due tomorrow. IXL and XtraMath are great resources.
    *Wordly Wise: Begin looking over Book 3, Lesson 5. To practice these words you can use the Wordly Wise app or access the full lesson using the Wordly Wise link to the left. 

    Extra Information:          
    *Today was show and tell day.
    *There will not be any spelling words this week. 
    *I loaded some new photos to the May folder. 
    *Please send your child in with his/her iPad charger if they forgot to bring it in. 
    *Extra copies of the Chapter 10 Math homework (and answer keys) can be found/printed from within the "Homework .pdf's" link to the left.

    Talking Points: 
    *Ask your child about show and tell day. 
    *Ask your child what they played during P.E. this morning. 
    *Ask your child to explain rounding numbers to the nearest ten.

    *Wonder Wednesday: Why do we laugh when we get tickled?

    Extra Information:          
    *Our class filled our marble jar last week and as a reward students chose "show and tell day." Your child may bring in one item that can fit in their backpack to share with the class tomorrow (Wednesday).

    *Wordly Wise: Begin looking over Book 3, Lesson 5. To practice these words you can use the Wordly Wise app or access the full lesson using the Wordly Wise link to the left. 

    Extra Information:          
    *Please return any Lester School library books you might have at home. 
    *All student iPads will be collected on Friday. Be sure to help your child back up his/her information. 
    *Please make sure your child brings socks for roller skating each day this week.

    *Last week we begin Chapter 10 in Math, which focuses on Mental Math and Estimation. Please take a moment to read the Chapter 10 School-to-Home parent letter (within the Parent Letters link to the left) to get a better understanding of what your child will be working on. 
    *I will meet with reading groups three and four tomorrow. 
    *The West Suburban Humane Society Donation Drive is taking place May 16 - May 20.

    *Wordly Wise: Complete Monarchs of the Air passage and questions (pages 33-36) by Friday. We are currently working on Book 3, Lesson 4. To practice these words you can use the Wordly Wise app or access the full lesson to the left within the Wordly Wise link. 

    Extra Information:          
    *All library books are due tomorrow. 
    *Today was the last day of SPOTS.
    *Students will be taking their Wordly Wise quiz tomorrow over Lesson 4.
