Q: How can I start improving my performance in classes?
A: Take charge!
*Develop a schedule for completing work at home. It's often helpful to do this in the same place each day. Make sure commonly needed items are easily accessible. (pens, pencils, eraser, ruler, glue stick, colored pencils, calculator, paper, whiteout, hi-lighter, and sticky notes are a good start...)
*Check Power School on a regular basis. If something doesn't look right to you, ask your teacher- don't wait! If any work is missing, establish your own schedule to get those assignments completed. The sooner the better. ALL work has value! Even if you don't earn full credit, or any credit, for the assignment, you will have a better understanding of the material for future assessments.
*Review class material for at least a few minutes each day. This takes the pressure off of you "cramming" for an upcoming test. Review notes, diagrams, text, etc.
