Also, applications are available at all school offices, or by calling the Food Services Department at 668-3138.
Students who qualified for Free or Reduced Meals for the this school year are able to use their benefits for the first few weeks of the next school year. A new application must be turned in by the first 30 days of school to continue meal benefits uninterrupted.
JULY 5 is the first date we can start accepting new applications for next school year.

If you received a letter stating that your child was approved for meal benefits through the direct certification process, you will not have to fill out another application. In addition, you will want to keep this letter to verify your student's meal status for other programs within the school district.

When completing the free and reduced application, please include all students enrolled in the on one application, sign, date and include the last four digits of your social security number.

This information is always keep confidential. You may always complete a new application if your family situation changes at anytime through out the school year.


 Dewitt Public Schools partnership with Chartwells k12, is now using Nutrislice to publish the school menus to a new interactive website and a   free smartphone app! You can access your menus anywhere, anytime! Click the apple link to check out the new site, or download the app to your smartphone for mobile access.

 Easy-to-use features include:
  • More information about menu items, including a photo and description
  • Filter for common food allergens like nuts, wheat and dairy
  • A Translation feature to translate your menus into a number of different languages
  • Access to nutrition information like carb counts and calories with just a few clicks!

Procedures For Setting Up An Account and Making A Deposit

  • Create an Account at www.SendMoneyToSchool.com. You will need your student's ID number to sign up. This number can be found on your Middle School or High School class schedule.                                                                                                                  If you need additional assistance please call Sandy Leach at 517-668-3138.
  • The school district's meal charge policy. If you have an e-mail address you will receive a weekly e-mail message regarding your student(s) low balance.

Making a Deposit into your Student's Account

•1)       You can make a Deposit Online with the following charge cards:  Visa or MasterCard.

The online deposit provides a safe, secure, and convenient way to make a deposit into your student's meal account.  Please note it takes approximately 15 minutes to process each deposit.    

•2)       In addition, a check or cash can be deposited at any school building.  Cashiers accept deposits during meal periods at the Middle School & High School. All buildings have a food service deposit box near the front office/cafeteria area.  Please check to make sure the student's name is on the envelope when making a deposit. You can make a deposit for the whole family on one check.  We would just need to know all of the student's names you wish to make a deposit for and the school they attend. Deposits are made daily  before lunch each daily at Fuerstenau, Schavey, Scott, and Herbison woods.  To keep the lunch period on schedule we will be depositing any funds received during  lunch into the next days deposit.

•3)       Checks can be addressed to: DeWitt Public Schools Food Service Dept.

Parents are reminded to make a deposit to their student's lunch account before the first day of school to avoid delays. Payments can be mailed to Food Service, PO Box 800, DeWitt, MI 48820. Or, credit card payments can be made with a username and password.

Students in Grades K-3 use ID Cards to make their lunch purchases

 Herbison Woods, Junior High, and High School

 Grades 4-12
Students in Grades 4-12 use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to make their lunch purchases

Breakfast is served at Fuerstenau, Schavey, Scott Elementary and the High School in the cafeteria approximately 20-30 minutes before school starts.  A variety of  Entrees served with fresh fruit, 100% juice and assortment of milk.
