About Mrs. Wozney
My name is Allyson Wozney and I am the first grade teacher at Stoddard Elementary School. I have been teaching in the De Soto School District since 2013.
I grew up near Holmen, Wisconsin and attended school in the Holmen School District. As a child I was involved in swimming and participated in swim team until I was a senior in high school. I spent 10 summers working at the Holmen Area Aquatic Center as a life guard and teaching swimming lessons. I also participated in theater.
After high school I attended UW-Stout in Menomoine, Wisconsin. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education (Birth to Third Grade) and Early Childhood Special Education (Birth to Third Grade).
I currently live in Onalaska, Wisconsin with my husband, Mr. Wozney and our cat, Winston. I enjoy swimming, reading, taking walks with Winston in the backyard, and traveling.
I'm excited to be a part of the De Soto Area School District and am brushing up on my PIRATE. ARRRR

Feel free to contact me by email at any time and by phone before school (before 8 am), during lunch (12-12:30), or after school (after 3:15).

About First Grade
First Grade is a fun and challenging year for many students. We spend our year learning to read! I use a modified Daily 5 plan and Literacy stations to best meet your child's literacy, writing, and spelling needs. We focus on writing conventions, word patterns and vowel combinations, grammar skills, and so much more! We use Math Expressions for our math program. Social Studies and Science is incorporated throughout our reading instruction and has included Being a Good Citizen, Habitats, Weather and Seasons, among many other topics.
I look forward to learning with your First Grader!
