Meet Ms. Gubler

Welcome to the LQMS Band Website - Home of Bulldog Pride!

I've been teaching at LQMS for more than 30 years!  I never get tired of teaching band, because the band is just a little bit different every year.  I look forward to meeting the new members of our band, and working with our band students to improve each and every day!

I have always loved bands.  I grew up admiring the USC Trojan Marching Band (Dr. Arthur C. Bartner is one of my heroes), and knew that band would always be part of my life.  When I went to college - The University of California at Davis (Go Aggies!) - I knew I wanted to be in the band, but didn't know if I wanted to major in Music or Engineering.  I'm delighted that at our school  I get to do a little of both.  At UC Davis I had the opportunity to be the Student Director of the California Aggie Marching Band and work with Dr. Lawrence E. Anderson (who quickly became another of my heroes).  I earned my Bachelor's Degree as well as my Teaching Credential at UC Davis.

I have two adult sons that I am extremely proud of.  My older son is a graduate of the University of Minnesota in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics and lives in St. Paul with his  wife and daughter.  My younger son is a graduate of  Northern Arizona University in Mechanical Engineering and works with robotics in Oklahoma.  The other member of my family is my beagle, Charlie. 

Students who get to know me will tell you that I LOVE the color PURPLE!  My pens are purple, my pencils are purple, my whiteboard markers are purple..........  I also love to watch sports.  My favorites are  Hockey, Football, Baseball and NASCAR.
