I am currently a Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Dean of the Faculty at DePauw University, a four-year private liberal arts institution in Greencastle, Indiana, USA. I teach courses in our core chemistry sequence; broader university courses; and upper level courses in my area of specialty, physical chemistry. My Ph.D. work was focused on theoretically modeling laser-molecule interactions. In addition to modeling projects I also investigate the properties of nanopools of water and lipid boundaries via a variety of time resolved and steady-state spectroscopies. Much of the progress we make is due to the talented students who regularly chose to work with me in the laboratory. I support students and colleagues through a variety of service activities on campus and beyond.
