Upcoming Projects

"Johnny Evers--A Baseball Life"

I have signed a contract with McFarland to write the first ever full length biography of Hall of Fame second baseman Johnny Evers. The book will cover Evers early life, his decade with the Chicago Cubs, his mental breakdown and near retirement followed by a comeback and his role as captain of the 1914 Miracle Braves and the rest of life and career.

The manuscript is to be published in June/July 2014.
"News for A Glimpse of Fame"
My first book, "A Glimpse of Fame: Brilliant But Fleeting Baseball Careers" is back in print and be ordered through various outlets, including McFarland (the publisher), Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

"Lefty O'Doul Biography"  NEW!!

I am exploring as my next project the possibility of a biography of Lefty O'Doul, the great hitter (.349 average), minor league manager (more than 2,000 wins), great hitting instructor (Joe DiMaggio) and ambassador of baseball to Japan--he is a member of the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.
