When to Keep Kids Home from School

Dear Parents and Guardians,

With cold and flu season upon us, we all want to work to keep our students and staff healthy. The staff will continue to encourage beneficial health practices in the classroom daily, including regular hand washing and coughing into ones sleeve. However, with so many children coming together, germs are easily exchanged and illnesses are passed on very quickly.

Please keep your child home if he/she is experiencing any of the following symptoms:

• Fever – It is recommended that children stay home 24 hours after a fever breaks

• Diarrhea

• Uncontrolled coughing

• Sore throat

• Rash with fever or behavior changes

• Vomiting

• Lethargy

• Green and/or yellow nasal discharge

Please contact your child’s teacher if your child is out of school due to illness. You will also be called to pick up your child from school if he/she shows any of the above illness symptoms.

Thank you for your cooperation regarding this matter. Our goal is to keep students and staff as healthy as possible. Please contact our office if you have questions at 464-0751.
