Point to point movement
In this mechanic, players move along the board to certain points connected by lines. Players in these games can only move along these lines in order to reach their destination. In Tokaido, players are travelling along a single path towards Edo. Along this path are areas that if you stop on them, you can gain items that give you points at the end of the game. You have to travel from point to point on this road in order to reach your desired place along the path.
