Bluffing
A mechanic that rewards deception in order to reach their goals. In Coup, players keep cards face down in front of them. These cards give them abilities that allow them to do things such as steal coins from other players, swap cards with the deck, and assassinate other players. The trick is, players can lie about what cards they have in front of them. Being convincing that you have what you say you have will prevent other players from being suspicious of you and calling out your bluff.
