In games featuring action programming, players decide what actions they wish to take before they execute them. For example, in Robot Turtles, the Turtle Masters have a series of movement cards that control which way their turtles move. They will choose one of these cards and put it into play. After they reveal their choice, the Turtle Mover will move the turtle on the board based on what card was chosen. Advanced players can even choose a series of cards before revealing them, giving the Turtle Movers a few movements at once.
