The Hayes High School chapter is an affiliated member of the National Honor Society and abides by the guidelines and procedures of the national organization.
Membership in the Hayes High School chapter is an honor bestowed upon a student. Selection for membership is by a Faculty Council and is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service. Once selected, members have the responsibility to continue to demonstrate these qualities. To be eligible for membership, a candidate must be a junior or senior at Hayes High School with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50.
Each year, juniors and seniors are inducted into the Hayes High School chapter during a fall induction ceremony.  Once inducted as members, those students become involved in a variety of school and chapter service projects.
