Create a project using Keynote/Slides

 Helpful Reminders
1)  Keep the words on the slides short and to the point. (Sentences/paragraphs should be for your use only and put in the presenter notes area)
2) Pictures should be LARGE. If you need several pictures on a slide consider make extra slides for that topic.
3) Make sure you stick to one  slide theme when doing your presentation. Slides should look like they belong together.



1) Naming and Saving Slides

 Open a Slides/Keynote document  .   Google Slides

Try to use a tool that you think you need to learn the most.

Save the document by naming it 7 Last name, First Name, Me Project


2) Bibliography

  • Make a bibliography of any pictures you use. This can be the last slide of your presentation. Include the name of the person who took the pictures and the web site you got the picture from.
  • If you use iClipart you must also cite that resource. You should add an iClipart citation that states: All other pictures used in this presentation were taken from iClipart school license agreement. 
  • If you or someone else has taken pictures in your presentation make sure you put their name under the picture.

3) Title Page 

Page 1 Should have your full name and a picture of yourself. You can use  Photo Booth to take this picture (make this picture nice). Here is a video that explains how to  Insert Pictures (Keynote)Insert PIctures (Slides), Insert Pictures (Prezi)


4) Content for Pages   
Make a new page for each item listed below. Make sure that each page follows the theme for your Keynote. (In other words each page should look like it belongs with your presentation and be similar. (Pastel theme....flower theme......sport theme......rainbow theme.....etc....) 

DO NOT TYPE ALL OF THE INFORMATION THAT YOU ARE GOING TO SAY. YOU SHOULD ONLY HAVE TITLES/KEY WORDS AND PICTURES ON EACH SLIDE.

        3 of your interests

        tell about your family

        3 things you did last summer or over winter break...or what you are going to do over break

        one interesting fact about yourself

        a goal that you have for yourself about school (example: never have any late assignments, study 20 minutes every night)

        share what career you would like to have when you get older (and tell why you picked that)

        Lists 2 things that you would like to learn about (it doesn’t have to be about computers it could be about anything………for instance would like to learn about how to make bread)

        List your favorites….movie/book/food/etc…….

        Have a vacation location.....where would you like to go on a vacation (this page should contain a link that you can take us to and show us some items about this area)

        What else can you think of that would make your presentation unique?


5)Pictures 

Add pictures Put in extra pictures to your document. You should have a picture for every slide. When adding pictures choose pictures and iClip Art that is non-copyright protected.

                Do  a Creative Commons Search

Make sure you list the cite every picture. Put it on your bibliography page.  The name of the person who took the picture and the website you got the picture from should be listed on your bibliography.


6) Format and Layer Pictures  

Arranging Text and Pictures (Click Here for Video (Keynote)).....show that you know how to put words on a picture or shape.


7) Transitions and Music (Keynote Only) (Can only add music to Slides when you have access to Youtube)   



8) Link to 1st Slide  
Add a Shape or Picture and create a link on the very last page of your presentation that will take you back to the first page. (Click Here for video explanation (Keynote))

9)  Vacation Location Slide and Link  
Add a page that shows where you would like to go on vacation. Put in a link to a page that explains something you would like to see/do when you go on this vacation (Click Here (Keynote)) You will need to tell us about the web site and show us around the website when you give your presentation. 

10) Slide Background 

Change the background color of your slides. (Click here for Video Explanation (Keynote))

Be creative and add some things to your project that you think no one else will think of doing. You should have slides that look like they fit together.


11) Proofread

Make sure you have everything spelled correctly and worded correctly. Have a friend proofread your presentation.


12)  Grade Sheet

Look over the directions (above) and your grade sheet (you have a paper copy of this) to make sure you haven't forgotten anything in your presentation.


13)  Practice, Practice, Practice......

Give your presentation to your parents, friends, siblings, grandparents. 

Do a screen recording of yourself giving your presentation. Pretend grade yourself.

The day the presentation is due we will have you practice giving your presentation to a group and give each other feedback. Presentations will begin the next day. Presenters will be randomly chosen, unless someone wants to volunteer. All presentations will be recorded.



14) If you did a Keynote presentation, put the Keynote document in Google Drive

Put a copy of your Keynote in your Google Drive so that you do not lose your project.


15) Video (Crazy iMovie Time...get directions from Ms. Lee)

Take a copy of your video and put it in iMovie. Use titles and edit your presentation. Export the video as a file and put it in Google Drive.
