My name is Christine McHone and I am the Counselor at Earl Boyles Elementary School.  I hold a master's degree in counseling from Portland State University.  I have been the School Counselor at Earl Boyles since Fall of 2004.  Prior to 2004 I was a high school Counselor at Glencoe High School in Hillsboro, Or.

The mission of the Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling Program of David Douglas Elementary Schools is to support the education and development of all students.  This is a collaborative and developmental model, involving the efforts of school staff, students, parents, and the greater community.  It is both proactive and preventative.  Our purpose is to support academic learning (Learn to Learn), promote career development (Learn to Work), present opportunities for optimizing personal growth (Learn to Live), and support community responsibility (Learn to Contribute).

The mission of the Earl Boyles Counseling Program is to present opportunities for growth for all students (K-5) in the areas of academics, careers and social development.  The mission is to also encourage community service in both the Earl Boyles Community and the greater community of SE Portland and Oregon.  This is done through the utilization of small groups, individual counseling, classroom guidance and consultation.
