We only had 12 teachers (as opposed to the 13 who signed up) show up to the first part of the PLT training. Bill E. did not need a sub and two of our special ed teachers split a sub so that saved 3 sub costs off the original figure.  Our first dollar amount for Day 1 of this training should come ($94 x 3) to $282 less than anticipated.

  1. Indicators based on our school assessment data:  OAKS - Reading, Writing, Math, Science
  2. Percentage of students involved in OSAA extracurricular activities (what about clubs?)
  3. Percentage of students enrolled in most rigorous courses offered? Passing?
  4. What percentage have chronic attendance problem (<90%)
  5. On track for graduation according to credits 9th (6), 10th ( ), 11th ( ), 12th(25)
  6. Graduation rate (On-time only?)

The ST approved money for Tim Bailey, Erik Johnson and myself to have a consultant come in and work with us on proficiency based instruction. However, after repeated unsuccessful attempts to schedule a meeting with her, we have come to the conclusion that we can go forward without her "expertise". The three of us went to a training at the DO last week that helped us refine some of the things we are looking at. We feel that with the release day and site visitation to Redmond, we have a good idea of what we need to do. We would like to use the third day (which was approved to be spent with the consultant) further refining our common assessments. My question is, do we need to reapply since the money will not be used exactly like we had proposed? I can easily put an amended proposal together if needed.

Perhaps a good place to start looking at what we should track year to year to help create our school improvement...

Review School Improvement Plan: Academic and Behavior Goals.  How are we doing on our academic goals?  Looking at the latest OAKS Progress Report by total and subgroups.
What to do with this information?  What questions need to be addressed to administration or division chairs?

There will NOT be a meeting on January 10th.

Time issues????

Feedback from professional growth fund recipients.  Eric Wadsworth only.   Bob Gray questioned whether or not this was a valid requests, since these recipients were using funds on a state in-service day.

Do Parent/Teacher conference times need to be changed?  Perhaps Wednesday & Thursday nights and no morning session was suggested at division meeting.

Require kids to attend enrichment courses who do not pass state tests?  What does the data show about students who take enrichment classes and their test scores?  Joe Talley From the limited data that we collected last spring, there is overwhelming correlation between the kids who attended an intervention and a significant increase (3 or more points)  in their test scores.
