Meet the Principal

I am currently in my third year as a 7-12 principal here at Dundy County Stratton. Prior to my current role as a principal I obtained a teaching endorsement in biology and took my first teaching position at Palmyra-Bennet schools in Southeast Nebraska. The courses I taught included anatomy, physics, chemistry, health science, and physical/earth science. During my time there I was also part of the football coaching staff in various roles through grades 7-12. As I progressed through my teaching career I was encouraged by my building principal to pursue an administrative degree and principal position. I received my Masters in 7-12 Administration in May of 2015 from Chadron State College and started my current role shortly after. It has been a sharp learning curve with my new position, but it has been very rewarding experience already. In an effort to grow in my role as a principal and leader within the school district I joined the doctorate of school improvement program at the University of West Georgia with a focus on educational leadership. Some of my hobbies/interests include involvement in the outdoors where I enjoy hunting and fishing. Additionally I relish the opportunity to read on my down time. I also enjoy spending time with my wife Lisa, our new daughter Leah, and our two beagles Zoey and Ellie.
