In sixth grade we are using enVisions Math.
This curriculum identifies topics at each grade level that allign with the Common Core State Standards and allows each student to achieve mastery of these topics. Problem-based interactive learning activities introduce new concepts and skills as students work with peers and teachers to make sense of and decide on workable solutions to real-world situations. Each lesson also includes a set of problem-solving exercises where students will apply different skills and strategies to create a variety of solutions.  The sixth grade curriculum includes 19 topics or units.  They are broken into five domain areas.  These include Ratios and Proportional Relationships, The Number system, Expressions and Equations, Geometry, and Statistics and Probability. At the start of each topic I will email a Home-School Connection Letter to inform families of the content which will be covered in the coming unit.
