Welcome to Timber Trail kindergarten. I am excited to start my third year here at TTE. I feel blessed to have landed at Timber Trail Elementary and enjoy my days with kindies.

This is my 23rd year teaching. I started my career in Omaha, NE, teaching 6th grade in a middle school setting at St. Wenceslaus Catholic School. I slowly worked my way through several different positions in private, charter, and traditional settings, spending most of my years in DCSD. I landed in kindergarten nine years ago, and I am grateful for the many teaching opportunities I've had in education. For now, half day kindergarten is the place for me, and I love it. I earned a BA in Journalism/English/Editing from Creighton University and a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska (sorry, not a Husker fan). Prior to arriving at Timber Trail Elementary, I taught at Trailblazer Elementary in Highlands Ranch for 15 years teaching 6th grade, health k-6, and kindergarten. I have also taught at Larkspur Elementary and Academy Charter School, in Castle Rock.

My family and I live in Highlands Ranch. My son is an 8th grader at Rocky Heights Middle School, my daughter is a 5th grader at Redstone Elementary, and my husband works for the University of Colorado (Go Buffs!). We have a black lab we rescued last summer that is almost two.  She is a great addition to our family. As an Air Force brat, I grew up in several parts of the US, but the Black Hills in South Dakota is where I did most of my growing up and is home to me. As a family, we enjoy biking, skiing, and spending time in the mountains.

Kindergarten is such a special time. There is so much to discover and learn. I love being able to see light bulbs turn on as kids discover so many new concepts. Reading skills will really take off this year. Our goal is to advance each child one year (or more) from whatever point they start the year. The progress in kindergarten is amazing as kids are ready to soak up new learning like a sponge! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's education. It takes a village to provide our kids the best education possible. Please feel free to contact me through email. I try to respond within 24 hours, or sooner. Looking forward to a great year!!!!
