Express Check-in

Time to Check in for the 2015-2016 School Year, Jaguars! Please review all of the information carefully and print off the new immunization information. Remember, all students (K-12 grade) must be in compliance with this new state regulation (or provide a waiver from their physician) and submit it (either email or hard copy) to the front office as soon as possible.

Student Parking

Students are allowed to park at RCHS by permit only. Due to the limited number of parking spaces available, only seniors and juniors will be able to purchase parking permits for the 2015-16 school year. Please complete the online parking permit application located on the important links portion of Express Check-in with your student. Completion of the application does not reserve a parking permit.

Parking permits are issued on a first come first served basis with seniors having priority during the first week of school. Seniors can pick up parking permits from the finance window beginning Monday, Aug. 10. Juniors can pick up parking permits beginning on Monday, August 17. Student accounts will be billed upon receiving a permit. You must have your driver's license to pick up your parking permit. Students will not be allowed to pick up a permit if they owe fees prior to the 2015-16 school year.

 Need Transcripts? 

Graduates (2014 or earlier) if you are in need of transcripts, you need to request them from the district registrar. Alumni must go to https://douglasco.scriborder.com to order transcripts. 2015 graduates contact the RC counseling office at 303-387-3022.

      Free & Reduced Applications      

All Free & Reduced applications are done online this year. You can also access this link by going on the district website and clicking on the n at the bottom. Choose Nutrition Services and there is a big blue oval that says "Online Free & Reduced Lunch Application" or use the link below.

Student Health Insurance

The Douglas County School District Risk Management Department has collaborated with an independent insurance agency for student health insurance needs. Student accident insurance coverage can be obtained through K&K Insurance. Specifically the web site to enroll online is www.studentinsurance-kk.com. Hard copy applications can be obtained in the Rock Canyon main office.

For all students it is mandatory to have health insurance to go on overnight field trips and for secondary students involved in sports, student health insurance is critical. If you have any questions about the insurance costs and the coverage limits contact the K&K Student Insurance representative Brice Durban at 785-213-9879. If you have any questions about this program, contact Brennan in Risk Management at 720-433-1097 or brennan.mendus@dcsdk12.org.

 

Weather Closure/Delay

If school has a delayed start due to weather, the delayed start will be 1-1/2 hours (this is a change from a one hour delay.) The District will use the following methods to notify parents about weather related school closures and schedule changes: local television and radio broadcasts, District website, District weather hotline 303-387-7669. Our Check Policy:

The Douglas County School District is moving to an ACH (automatic clearing house) check clearing process beginning July 1, 2012. When you provide a check as payment, you authorize us either to use information from your check to make a one-time electronic funds transfer from your account or to process the payment as a check transaction.
